Information about Lieutenant Commander Erick Naslund, Shipping – Tiree, 1941-42

An account of Lieutenant Commander Erick Naslund, who was the Royal Navy Shipping Officer on Tiree during 1941-42. He was responsible for dealing with shipwrecks in the area during WWII, and for preventing looting. He and his family lived in the school house in Scarinish. Written by his daughter. Also emails between An Iodhlann and Brian Harris. The wreck of HMS Sturdy at Sandaig in October 1940 with the loss of 5 lives, may have catalysed sending a Shipping Officer to Tiree.
