Poem “Evening Prayer of a People” by Neil Munro, 1914
Photocopy of a poem “Evening Prayer of a People” by Neil Munro in 1914. A prayer to God to preserve the husbands and sons of an unspecified island while they are away in action during World War I. The poem originally appeared in the Glasgow News but was subsequently made into postcards, the proceeds from which went to the Prince of Wales` National Relief Fund.
Letters from former Tiree Baptist minister F.W.Taylor to Elsie MacKinnon, Kirkapol, 1939
Two handwritten letters from the former Baptist minister on Tiree, F.W.Taylor to Miss Elsie MacKinnon, Lodge Farm, Kirkapol. Both are personal sermons to the young Elsie (19 yrs) advising her to avoid ways and people who might lead her to the devil. One letter (written from Aucheneck, Deungoyne, Stirlingshire, 24.7.39) mentions the minister`s slow recovery from a serious illness.

Hardback book about the destinations and experiences of the Rev. Thomas Rosies during his missionary work in Scotland and abroad, over the period 1825 to 1860. Chapters include details of his childhood, the West Coast Mission, work around Scotland (Tiree and Coll are mentioned on page 131), and Bombay, India.

Collection book for subscriptions towards the upkeep of Soroby Cemetery 1908-1954
Small notebook containing handwritten record of names and amount given towards the upkeep of Sorobie Cemetery between 1908 and 1954. Names include: Donald Lamont (The Land, father of Mary lamont, Mod Gold Medalist), Donald Campbell (“the ban”, grandfather of Alasdair Sinclair Greenhill “Alasdair beag na Cachala”), Gilleasbuig Campbell (his borther), Donald MacLean, Balinoe (his nickname Donald a` Tommy was to do with his hat, great uncle of Willie MacLean, Balinoe), John MacDonald, Sandaig (“Beegee”). Also a small type-written note informing subscribers of Argyll County Council`s failure to keep the cemetery in an orderly state and the need to revive the subscriptions system. The notebook was evidently passed around between subscribers.
