13 postcards bearing black & white photographs of historical views of Tiree collected by Alasdair Sinclair, Brock, including Brock, Vaul bay, Scarinish, Balephuil, Crossapol, Balemartine, Cornaigmore School and Hynish. Several have stamps (1911, 1952, 1957, 1961). The photographs have been accessioned separately.

Ceramic lid of a toothpaste container
Round white ceramic lid of an “Adams toothpaste” container “for preserving and beautifying the teeth & gums”. Found at the site of Flora MacArthur`s house, Sandaig, during construction work. The house was knocked down in 2009 to make room for a newly built house belonging to Cameron Kennedy.

Letter and account of RAF airman F.C.”Freddie” Gee`s time on Tiree 1944-45
Letter from F.C.”Freddie” Gee to Dr Holliday regarding his enclosed account of his days on Tiree as an RAF Meterological Air Observer during WWII. He wrote it for his grandchildren and includes mention of two Tiree school teachers, May and Grace, whom he befriended, and Corporal Eddie Rudd who later taught his children at school. Includes contact photographs of F. Gee and various images from Tiree. See also photographs P103-P107.

Softback book “The Second Torpedo” about the torpedoing of the SS Volendam, which was evacuating 300 school children from England to Canada in 1940. The author, Ilene Birkwood, was one of the surviving children. The ship`s purser`s body washed up on Tiree and was buried in Kirkapol cemetery – see pages 89-90.

Letters between Neville Beale and An Iodhlann regarding his donation of the material.
