Colour print of an original portrait of Mrs Margaret Ann MacFarlane Whittet, painted by D. MacGregor Whyte in 1935 and owned by Su and Ian Aitkens, Balephuil, plus papers relating to her genealogy. Margaret was the daughter of James MacFarlane who was born at Parkhouse, Tiree, then moved to Stirling/Elgin. Margaret was born in 1861 in Stirling or Banffshire and married George Whittet, a baptist minister in Wishaw, Lanarkshire.

Email from Charles Pressley to An Tirisdeach (11 July 2009) stating his interest in the published articles about the wreck of the HMS Sturdy at Sandaig in 1940, his association with Tiree and friends and relatives of those who were on the Sturdy, and his attached article about the Sturdy that he wrote for the West Sussex Gazette following a visit to Tiree in 1999.

Collection book for subscriptions towards the upkeep of Soroby Cemetery 1908-1954

Small notebook containing handwritten record of names and amount given towards the upkeep of Sorobie Cemetery between 1908 and 1954. Names include: Donald Lamont (The Land, father of Mary lamont, Mod Gold Medalist), Donald Campbell (“the ban”, grandfather of Alasdair Sinclair Greenhill “Alasdair beag na Cachala”), Gilleasbuig Campbell (his borther), Donald MacLean, Balinoe (his nickname Donald a` Tommy was to do with his hat, great uncle of Willie MacLean, Balinoe), John MacDonald, Sandaig (“Beegee”). Also a small type-written note informing subscribers of Argyll County Council`s failure to keep the cemetery in an orderly state and the need to revive the subscriptions system. The notebook was evidently passed around between subscribers.

DVD compilation of six old films about Tiree created for the 2009 Feis Thiriodh film show from archive material from An Iodhlann – with accompanying programme. (1) Family holiday on Tiree 1957, (2) formation of the Crofters` Union 1985, (3) centenary of 1886 Crofters Act 1986, (4) Tiree Association sports day and first commercial flight 1929, (5) Tiree school trip to see concord at Heathrow 1984, (6) about Tiree with a ceilidh in the Lodge Hotel 1992.

Copies of a report and accompanying letters written by Lt-Cmdr Cooper of HMS Sturdy in 1945

Copies of a report about the recovery of POWs from Macassar, and two accompanying letters written by Lt-Cmdr Cooper of HMS Sturdy in 1945. The original report was written soon after the POWs had been recovered and outline the POW`s experiences, inter alia, of many of the survivors of the sinking of the HMS Exeter. Retyped from a carbon copy of the original report by a crew member of the Maidstone who had preserved the record for over 60 years.
