Copy of short text `Reminiscences of shipwreck HMS Sturdy` by Eric Wise, which was read out at his funeral. The Sturdy was wrecked on rocks at Sandaig in Oct 1940.

Copy of `Warship World` magazine, 2008, with article `The Loss of HMS Sturdy` by Derek Fox. Also a letter from the author to Dr John Holliday, Sept.2010, along with a separate typed transcript of the article. HMS Sturdy was wrecked off Sandaig in Oct 1940 with the loss of five lives. Derek Fox`s grandfather, Ernest Fox was one of the survivors.

Documents, articles and photograps relating to the endangered Eriskay Pony breed of the outer Hebrides. The Eriskay Pony Society was set up in 1972 to prevent the extinction of the breed. One of the founders was Robert Beck, vet, and resident of Tiree.
Information about Lieutenant Commander Erick Naslund, Shipping – Tiree, 1941-42
An account of Lieutenant Commander Erick Naslund, who was the Royal Navy Shipping Officer on Tiree during 1941-42. He was responsible for dealing with shipwrecks in the area during WWII, and for preventing looting. He and his family lived in the school house in Scarinish. Written by his daughter. Also emails between An Iodhlann and Brian Harris. The wreck of HMS Sturdy at Sandaig in October 1940 with the loss of 5 lives, may have catalysed sending a Shipping Officer to Tiree.
Letter and account of RAF airman F.C.”Freddie” Gee`s time on Tiree 1944-45
Letter from F.C.”Freddie” Gee to Dr Holliday regarding his enclosed account of his days on Tiree as an RAF Meterological Air Observer during WWII. He wrote it for his grandchildren and includes mention of two Tiree school teachers, May and Grace, whom he befriended, and Corporal Eddie Rudd who later taught his children at school. Includes contact photographs of F. Gee and various images from Tiree. See also photographs P103-P107.
