Sir Donald MacLean, K.B.E., P.C., LL.D., solicitor and politician, chairman of the Parliamentary Liberal Party, Chairman of Ways and Means, Deputy Speaker. He was the son of John MacLean, cordwainer/shoemaker of Kilmoluaig and Carmarthen. Sir Donald’s son, also Donald MacLean, was the infamous Cambridge spy who defected to Russia after WWII.
