Bronze spring of a Roman brooch (late 1st to 2nd century AD) from a collection of around 200 bronze objects found by amateur archaeologist George Holleyman at Balevullin in 1941-43, when he served at RAF Tiree during WWII. Identified by Dr Fraser Hunter, National Museum of Scotland, in 2019.

Silver pin badge issued to servicemen who were given an honourable discharge from active duty during WWI. Worn by injured servicemen to prevent abuse from members of the public if their injuries were not obvious. Bears the Royal monogram and the words “For King and Empire, Services Rendered”.

Silver and blue enamel Admiralty lapel badge given to essential shipyard workers during WWI. Bears a silver crown and the words “On war service, 1914”. On the reverse are stamped the numbers 12485, suggesting that it was numbered after 1916.

Songs and tunes include Tuireadh Iain Dow, Dhachaidh bhòn Iasgachd, Banais Sgiobnais, Joyce Gillespie, Chuir iad an t-suil, Air feasgar fo throm smunt?, Ag Obair air na Geibh, Ballach Bhan, Lag nan Cruachan, An Gille Brighde, An teid thu leam, Air madainn Diardaoin, Mo nighean bhan, Se Tiriodh an t-Eilean thoghainn fonn.

Scans of ledgers, school workbooks, ships logs and other documents belonging to Duncan Alexander Campbell, Balephuil (1828-1911), who emigrated to Bruce County, Ontario, aboard the ‘Britannia’ in 1846, with his wife Elizabeth Forrest, Dumbarton(?) (1831-1906). Before emigrating to Canada to join the rest of his family, Duncan became a ship’s carpenter in Dumbarton. Includes background information compiled by the donors.
