Digital copy of an audio cassette tape of various singers and musicians performing at a public ceilidh held in around 1995-2000. Performers include Angus MacPhail, Iain Brown, Murdina MacLean, Duncan macInness, Mairi MacLean, John Holliday, Neil MacLeod and the Tiree Pipe Band. Songs and tunes include Tuireadh Iain Dow, Dhachaidh bhòn Iasgachd, Banais Sgiobnais, Joyce Gillespie, Chuir iad an t-suil, Air feasgar fo throm smunt?, Ag Obair air na Geibh, Ballach Bhan, Lag nan Cruachan, An Gille Brighde, An teid thu leam, Air madainn Diardaoin, Mo nighean bhan, Se Tiriodh an t-Eilean thoghainn fonn.

Photocopy of the original handwritten manuscript of the pipe tune ‘Captain Lachlan MacPhail of Tiree’ composed by Peter MacFarquhar in his memory. Lachlan MacPhail was a sea captain from Clachan who played a part in tricking the enemy during WWII.

Chanter belonging to Captain Lachlan MacPhail, Tiree and Glasgow (1889-1961), who was a great piper and writer of Gaelic poems and bagpipe tunes, and who had a pipe tune named after him. The chanter was presented to An Iodhlann by his eldest grandson on behalf of Lachlan’s three daughters Isabel, Cath and Margaret, who spent the holidays in Tiree in the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s.
