Sepia portrait photograph of Captain Donald Archibald Cameron in the uniform of the Royal Irish Rangers during WWI. Hand-coloured and framed in oval glass. He died in action during WWI. Relative of Robin Cameron, Crossapol. (may have been handed in by someone named Porter, staying at Vaul, pre mid-2008).

Softback book about the history, ecology and conservation of native hazel woodland on the Atlantic fringes of Britain and Ireland. Hazel woodland is thought to have existed on Tiree and Coll around 9,000 years ago. The nuts were probably an important food source for seasonal foragers around the sea kingdom.

Copy of the first edition of the newsletter of the `Friends of Thatched Houses`, edited by Alec MacArthur, Heylipol. One article is of a series of photographs of `Roofing a New Barn in Tiree (July 1985)` (probably Scarinish), including Hector Brown and Murdoch MacLean, while another article is in Gaelic about the old houses of Tiree by Alan Boyd. The group was set up to aid perservation and restoration of traditional thatched houses in the Hebrides. Most members were from Tiree.
