Maps regarding the weather station at Cornaigmore, 1926

Photocopies of two maps pertaining to the installation of the weather station at Cornaigmore School in the 1920s. One is a plan of the location of the weather station at the school hand-drawn by Argyll Estates with reference to the Feu Contract. Photocopy of a paper by A.S. Cowper listing all the schoomasters of the Society in Scotland for Propagating Christian Knowledge between 1709 and 1872. Published in the Scottish Record Society`s journal in 1997. Accompanied by a 2-page summary of the records pertaining to Tiree and Coll only. Many of the early schools were Church funded.

Booklet “Danina C McKinnon 1879-1898” by Alasdair Sinclair, Brock.

Typed bound booklet about Danina McKinnon of Ruaig by her descendant Alasdair Sinclair, Brock, and compiled by his niece, Mary Henderson. Includes images of birth certificate, prize medal from Free Church, School Merit Certificate, many pages from her `Goliath` school exercise book, hospital records, death certificate, rememberance card. Danina died at only 19 from “tumour in neck”.

Two roofing slates and slate pencils for `Schools` exhibition 2011-2013

Two chipped roofing slates and a packet of four slate pencils used in the mini-exhibition about schools in 2011-2013. Visiting children were encouraged to try writing on the slates with the slate pencils.
