Geekie’s wife Ann Campbell (1844-1918) was 1st cousin to Colina Georgina McLean Campbell, Balephetrish (1841-1930), wife of Doctor Alexander Buchanan, Baugh. Ann was the daughter of Donald Campbell Tacksman of Reef & Ulva. Colina was the daughter of Colin Campbell (Cailean Mhor) of Coll. Colin bought the two ends of Coll and owned the farms of Cornaig & Caolis. Both Colin Campbell (1798-1867) and Donald Campbell (1801-1884) were sons of Niel Campbell, Tacksman of Sunipol (1769-c1854).

Lapel or cap badge of RAF 518 Squadron found on a sports field in South Island, New Zealand, in 2019 (32 x 20 mm). Made in Birmingham by HW Miller – medal, badge and button manufacturers since the 1930s. 518 Squadron – Meteorological Observers was stationed on Tiree during WWII. Only a handful of New Zealand men served at RAF Tiree, and it is presumed that the badge belonged to one of them and was dropped on his returned to New Zealand. The badge depicts a hand holding a key with the inscription ‘Tha an Iuchair againn-ne / We hold the key’.
Bound composition titled ‘A Visit to Coll’ by Catriona Smyth, 2002. Contains photographs of gravestones in the old and new graveyards on Coll, and a transcription of their inscriptions. Names include Lightbody, MacDougall, Ferguson, Fainges, Taylor, MacKinnon, MacCalum, MacFadyen and McPadyen. War graves include a Royal Marine of the ‘Viknor’, Harvey or Gibson of the ‘Racoon’, Pontus of the ‘Arandor Star’, and several unamed sailors of the Merchant Navy.
