Sepia photograph of Alan Campbell MacDougall (to the right of the wheel) acting as purser on a MacBrayne boat during his university days. He became headmaster of Cornaigmore School in 1940.

Glass butter churn made around 1900 with metal handle and turning mechanism, and replacement wooden paddle. Last used by Mairi Campbell in the 1950s to make butter in the winter when the cows produced much less milk. The original paddle rotted and the replacement made by John Fletcher, Balemartine, in 2010. Spare replacement paddle included.

Printed emailed letter containing information and photographs about Captain Donald MacCallum of Tiree (1910-1943), who was taken prisoner of war aboard Fregattenkapitan Harro Schachts U-507 during WWII, but was killed when the U-boat was sunk days later with all hands.

Black & white photograph (blurred) of Captain Donald MacCallum, Balevullin, (1903-1943) aboard his ship the SS Baron Dechmont of Ardrossan. His ship was torpedoed during WWII and he was taken aboard a U-boat as a PoW. The U-boat was sunk by American bombers days later with the loss of all hands.
