Black & white photograph of Anne MacLean (nee MacPhail, b. 1869), mother of Capt. John MacLean and Alexander Archiebald MacLean, Kilmoluaig, and her daughter Flora MacLean around 1925. Anne`s parents were Archie MacPhail and Christine MacKinnon (married Tiree 1894). The family is registered in the 1901 census, schedule no.79, Balevullin. Alexander Campbell MacLean who was born at Druimbhuidhe in Kilmoluaig on 20th August 1878, the son of Hugh MacLean and his wife Mary MacLean. He had two sisters, Flora and Catherine, and one brother Hugh Alexander. He married Marion Kelly in 1905. The couple emigrated to the States in 1906 but eventually settled in Canada, where Alexander was employed as an assistant manager at the Canadian Bank of Commerce in Toronto.
