Alexander McPhadden (1790-1878) lived in Croish House, Caoles, before emigrating to Ontario, Canada, with his family in 1806. He was Glenda`s great-great-grandfather. Alexander`s first wife Catherine McLean, Kenovay, died after her 6th child (the drunk doctor set fire to her bed!). His second wife Flora MacKinnon, Baugh, bore him another 7 children.
