Transcript of a Police Report submitted to Tobermory Procurator Fiscal charging Donald McLean with Breach of the Public Peace on 13 April 1861.
McLean (boatman, Kenovay) is accused of committing a Breach of the Peace on board the Islesman Steamer. The report mentions a fight between Donald Campbell Esquire (the Reef) and Alexander McLean (Scarinish). Furthermore, the Stewart on board the Islesman Steamer is charged with the offense of the Act of License for supplying spirits. Alexander Buchanan Esquire (Scarinish), Archibald Brown (shipowner, Manal), Archibald McKinnon (shoemaker, Scarinish) and Neil McLean (fisherman, Caoles) are named as witnesses.
Transcript of a police report submitted to Tobermory Procurator Fiscal charging Flora McPhail or Shediack of Breach of the Peace in May 1859. McPhail (Earnal) is charged with cursing, threatening and abusing Archibald McKinnon (cotter, Earnal). Statements are provided by Archibald McKinnon and Flora Carmichael (aged 12 years, daughter of Procurator Fiscal Archibald Carmichael, Earnal).
Transcript of a Police Report of an assault at Kenloch [Kinloch] charging Coll McDonald (Labourer or Lobster Fisher, Kinloch) with assault. McDonald is accused of attacking Hector Campbell in a dispute over a spade in October 1856. Statements are provided by Hector Campbell and Alexander McLean (Servant to Peter McNair InnKeeper, Kinloch).
A note in the margin contains a list of names and some references to cases presumably submitted to Tobermory Procurator Fiscal. One of these reads ‘Death Arch[ibald] McLean, Tyree’.
Digitised copy of Instructions for the chamberlain of Tiree, 23 October 1750. These instructions were sent from the Duke of Argyll and include: land erosion (particularly at Cladich-chrogan in Balephetrish); quarrying, use of tenants to build a stone barricade; draining the Loch of Kirkapol; cutting of turf; tiends; Lachlan McLean at Ruaig and the building of a lint miln there; tenants in arrears; quarrels with McCualrigs; the pulling of bear [barley] and making gredan meal; growing hempseed on Tiree; sand drifts in Kelis [Caoles], Ballevilline [Balevullin], Keylipol and Quiyeish; arrangements for disposing of the product of the island; the farm at Crossapol; sending salt beef to market; use of planks; Hector McLean of Coll and the rental of the two ends of Coll; Donald McMillan and the tack of Beist; Memorial of Hector and Alexander McLean, who claaim to be unjustly turned out of their tack of Gott and Vuill by Barnecarry.

Flora MacLean (wife of Niel MacMillan, Balevullin) is charged with assaulting Ann Lamont or MacLean (wife of Archibald MacLean, Balevullin).
Ann Lamont or MacLean (above), John MacDougall (cotter, Balevullin), and Niel Kennedy (crofter, Balevullin) are named as witnesses and provide statements.
Transcript of a Police Report submitted to Tobermory Procurator Fiscal by John MacDougall (Constable) charging John MacDougall and Malcolm MacKinnon with Breach of Peace on 5 December 1873. MacDougall (fisherman, Vaul) and MacKinnon (cottar, Vaul) are accused of fighting upon sea shore in Vaul. Hugh MacKinnon is accused of striking Ann MacFadyen or MacDougall.
Donald Brown (fisherman, Mannal) and Donald MacDougall (crofter, Vaul) are named as witnesses and provide statements.
