Black and white portrait photograph of Reverend Hector Cameron, around 1915. Rev Cameron was born in Cornaigmore and became a Gaelic scholar, the editor of the book `Tiree Bards’, co-author of `The Handbook to the Islands of Coll and Tiree`, and writer of Gaelic poetry.
Large hardback book ‘Leabhar na Feinne’, 1872. Published collection of heroic Gaelic ballads from the period 1512-1871, presented to Cornaigmore School by James Coates, Paisley, in 1905. James Coates donated many books to Tiree, including The Reading Room’s library (now An Iodhlann). From a collection from Mannal House.
Photocopies of a newspaper obituary and marriage certificate for William Agnew (1862-1931) who may have been the Headmaster at Cornaig School during 1915-1922. A widower, he married his housekeeper Catherine MacDonald on the mainland in 1919 while living at the School House, Cornaigmore.
