Collection of around 70 pottery fragments found by the Boyd family at Dùn Shiadair, West Hynish, in the 1970s. Some with various line, stipple and twist decorations, some coloured blue (bagged separately).

Bronze Age pottery from an offshore dun at West Hynish

From a collection of around 70 pottery fragments found by the family of naturalist Morton Boyd at Dùn Shiadair in the 1970s. Some are fragments of vessels with turned-out rims (lower left), whilst others are decorated with lines, stipples, twists and possibly also concentric rings or spirals (lower left). Fragments of animal bones and chipped flints were also present (50p for scale).
