Two lengths of straw rope, possibly made in the 1800s

Two lengths of twisted straw rope, one of sandy oats (490mm) and one of rye or wheat (780mm). Both were used to tie the cross cabers on to the main roof beams in a thatched house in Balevullin, possibly up to 200 years old.
