Porthole from the WWII warship, HMS Sturdy, which was wrecked on rocks off Sandaig during a storm in 1940. The porthole has been re-painted by Donald Brown, Vaul, and decorated with a sketch of the ship. The stainless steel bolts and backing (made from an old fish box) were added by Donald.
Large, brass, Canadian, artillery shell casing dated 1918 from WWI, with a replica lead cap made by Donald Brown, Vaul. On the base is stamped “-18Pr II VSM 1918 LOT 5424”.
Two hardwood pulley blocks made by Donald Brown’s uncle, who was a boat-builder in Vaul. One is for a single rope and made from teak, the other for two ropes and made from mahogany or black ash.
