Charles (1917-1941) was the son of Donald Archibald McLean, Kenovay and Linlithgow. An RAF Pilot Officer, he went missing in action over the English Channel during WWII. Alexina was named after her Uncle and Aunt, Alexander Walker and Mary McLean (sister of Donald Archibald), who gave Alexina a present of a doll, which was kept long after her death at the age of three. Charles went missing in action during WWII while serving with the RAF as a Pilot Officer with No. 3 and No. 217 Squadrons. He was known to his family and friends as Charlie, Chatta and Jock.
