Photograph of  Janet MacKinnon nee Campbell (1861-1949), Brandon Cottage, Heanish, taken in 1949.

Brandon Cottage was rebuilt and is now No. 7 Heanish.

Janet married Hector MacKinnon of Tiree in Glasgow, 1943 and later spent time in Brandon, Manitoba, Canada where her brother lived.

Photographs and documents of Hector MacLean, b 1875, of Rossdhu, Kenovay, married Flora Watson MacCallum b.1881 of Islay.

He was the son of Allan MacLean 1820-1882 and Euphemia MacDonald 1834-1917 of Kenovay. Allan’s father was Charles MacLean b 1776, Kenovay, d 1855 Kenovay, married to Mary b 1783, Kenovay, d 1863

Hector was brought up in a thatched cottage on the north side of
Rossdhu. Rossdhu was built in the 1890s by Hector’s older brother
Neilie Allan and part funded by another brother Donald. Hector was the youngest of Allan and Euphemia MacLean’s children. Hector joined the Police force and moved to Glasgow.
