Collection of photographs belonging to Willie Adair, Balevullin & Scarinish
Collection of 14 black & white and colour photographs belonging to Willie Adair (1925-2010), Balevullin & Scarinish. Willie was a foster child from Glasgow who came to live in the red-roof house in Balevullin. He was a great piper. Married first to Ina Lamont, Balemartine, then Agnes in Greenock. Returned to the Eventide Home in Scarinish for his last days. His niece `B` looked after Willie in Greenock and erected his headstone on Tiree. Seven photos of Willie accessioned separately Q113-Q119. Others are of his brother Tom, sister Jeannie and her daughter `B` and son `Little Jimmie` amongst others.

Sepia photograph of a young Willie Adair, Balevullin & Scarinish, with his older brother Tom, sister Jean and housekeeper Margaret Duffy, ca 1930. The family lived in Glasgow. Their mother died giving birth to Willie and were raised by the housekeeper. Willie was later fostered to Balevullin. (Original in filing cabinet 9 drawer 3)
