the original framed portraits were in the possession of the Findlater family until donated to An Iodhlann, see item 2026.9.1
John Brown owned the butter churn on display at An Iodhlann. click here It was probably passed down the family to him.
A large wooden carpenters’ spirit level belonging to Hugh MacDonald, The Eyrie, Kenovay, carpenter and coffin-maker
Joiner, undertaker, coffin-maker and builder, Hugh MacDonald spent some time in Patagonia, South America. He was also a piper and composed music for pipes which won several gold medals. He spoke several langauges including Gaelic, Spanish, Irish Gaelic and some Polish.
A sextant belonging to Captain Donald Kennedy, Cornaigmore.
Donald Archibald Kennedy sailed during both world wars and was present at D-Day.
The sextant was made by D McGregor & Co. Glasgow, Greenock & Liverpool during the early 20th century.
