Donald Archie MacLean of Lochside, Kilmoluaig, building a haystack in the early 1950s. Donald Archie worked on fishery cruisers and later captained ships to Arran. On top of the haystack is one of the Millhouse boys, either Archie Dubh or Teon.

Sir Donald MacLean, K.B.E., P.C., LL.D., solicitor and politician, chairman of the Parliamentary Liberal Party, Chairman of Ways and Means, Deputy Speaker. He was the son of John MacLean, cordwainer/shoemaker of Kilmoluaig and Carmarthen. Sir Donald’s son, also Donald MacLean, was the infamous Cambridge spy who defected to Russia after WWII.
