Digital copies of two newspaper articles from the Edinburgh Evening News, 6th and 18th June 1932, regarding the use of Supermarine Southampton seaplanes to locate herring shoals for the Scottish fishing fleet, and to transport a doctor to the Island of Coll in a medical emergency.
Sepia photograph of about 40 shags taking off from a rocky point on Tiree`s shore in the 1960s. The photograph was probably taken by Dr Kennedy, out on a fishing trip with Willie MacNeill, The Land – Barrapol, and Neil MacNeill, Scarinish (Niall an Tailleir). Shags were once part of the Tiree diet.
