L-R: John, Donald and Hugh MacFarlane( brothers of Lachie MacFarlane, Hynish). They were orphaned when their father, Donald died (possibly drowned in a fishing accident). Lachie stayed in Barrapol and his brothers were brought up by their godparents in Balemartine. John was in the Merchant Navy in World War II and died when his ship was sunk.
