Neil MacDonald was born Balephuill, Tiree in 1901, son of a general merchant. Neil left Tiree and delivered milk in Oban for 7 years. When his sister Elizabeth’s husband (Neil MacDonald) passed away he came back to the isle of Tiree to help Elizabeth who had a small farm croft and two small children. In later years he fell off a private lorry not the company he worked for, he damaged his spine and was crippled and unable to walk. He lived with sister Elizabeth and then went to live with his brother John MacDonald after she died. He passed away in 1975.
