Programme of church service, 3 colour photographs, and eulogy and tributes to Alasdair MacKinnon Sinclair, Brock (1923-2009), engineer and enthusiastic co-founder of An Iodhlann. A service of thanksgiving and remembrance was held at Kirkapol Church on 20 Jan. 2009.

L-R: Sine Chaluim Bhàin, Peigi a` Chiobair, Jessie, Duncan MacLean (a` Choibair). Sine looked after Jessie who developed dementia. Another of Duncan`s sisters lived in Islay and was there when one of the boats from Fuadach Bhaile Phuill was blown to Islay. Duncan himself had advised them not to go out that morning. The house was enlarged in 1936. It is in W. Hynish (na Cùiltean) and dates from when E & W Hynish was in one farm under the Factor`s brother (MacQuarrie). Collection of photographs belonging to Willie Adair, Balevullin & Scarinish
Collection of 14 black & white and colour photographs belonging to Willie Adair (1925-2010), Balevullin & Scarinish. Willie was a foster child from Glasgow who came to live in the red-roof house in Balevullin. He was a great piper. Married first to Ina Lamont, Balemartine, then Agnes in Greenock. Returned to the Eventide Home in Scarinish for his last days. His niece `B` looked after Willie in Greenock and erected his headstone on Tiree. Seven photos of Willie accessioned separately Q113-Q119. Others are of his brother Tom, sister Jeannie and her daughter `B` and son `Little Jimmie` amongst others.

Sepia photograph of a young Willie Adair, Balevullin & Scarinish, with his older brother Tom, sister Jean and housekeeper Margaret Duffy, ca 1930. The family lived in Glasgow. Their mother died giving birth to Willie and were raised by the housekeeper. Willie was later fostered to Balevullin. (Original in filing cabinet 9 drawer 3)
Will of Hector MacDonald, Balemartine, 1922.
Handwritten Will of Hector MacDonald (b.1850?) of Balemartine, dated 11 Sept. 1922, leaving his entire estate to his daughter Annie MacDonald. Written at Heylipol Manse in the presence of the Rev. Alexander MacBean and witnessed by Isabella MacBean (housewife) and Jessie Macnab (district nurse). Hector was a fisherman, worked in MacQuarrie`s shop in Hynish and was a respected leader of the Land Leagues. Also known as `Eachann MacNeill` and `Eachann a` Chaise` / Hector son of Neill and Hector the Cheese (from the shop). (Accession includes a photocopy)
