Collection of photographs belonging to Willie Adair, Balevullin & Scarinish
Collection of 14 black & white and colour photographs belonging to Willie Adair (1925-2010), Balevullin & Scarinish. Willie was a foster child from Glasgow who came to live in the red-roof house in Balevullin. He was a great piper. Married first to Ina Lamont, Balemartine, then Agnes in Greenock. Returned to the Eventide Home in Scarinish for his last days. His niece `B` looked after Willie in Greenock and erected his headstone on Tiree. Seven photos of Willie accessioned separately Q113-Q119. Others are of his brother Tom, sister Jeannie and her daughter `B` and son `Little Jimmie` amongst others.

Willie married Christina (Ina) Campbell, Balemartine, where they lived for some time. Hector and Ina were children of Walter Campbell and Janet Lamont.

Black & white photograph of L-R: Hector Campbell; Willie Adair, Balevullin & Scarinish; William (Jock) Gillespie; unknown; Walter Campbell (Jr). Willie served in the police force in Greenock and was an accomplished piper. Walter’s first piping tutor was his grandfather, Neil Lamont of Balemartine/Cornaig. The photograph was probably taken in around 1960 in Luton where Jock and Walter were police officers.
