He was the son of Allan MacLean 1820-1882 and Euphemia MacDonald 1834-1917 of Kenovay. Allan’s father was Charles MacLean b 1776, Kenovay, d 1855 Kenovay, married to Mary b 1783, Kenovay, d 1863
Hector joined the Police force and moved to Glasgow.
