An Iodhlann operates as a non-profit Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) dedicated to preserving the rich social history, genealogy, and cultural heritage of Tiree.

The historical records, family trees, and photographs displayed on this website are published for historical research and archiving purposes in the public interest, in accordance with the UK Data Protection Act and the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025. We rely on Legitimate Interests to preserve these vital community records for future generations.

Where possible, we endeavour to name individuals in photographs and genealogies to protect and enrich the island’s historical record. However, we deeply respect the privacy of living individuals.
