The compass card can also be called a “Pelorus” , which were much used on Ships as well for correcting magnetic compasses using Lord Kelvin’s innovations. It looks like the inner bearing circle on the card might be adjustable, so that the user can read off both True and Magnetic compass bearings. Regards, Mike Harrison. Master Mariner.
