The new Gott Bay pier under construction in the 1910s

In 1900, the pier project was estimated to cost £10,000 by the County Council`s `Sub-committee of the Piers Committee`. Prior to completion of the new pier, the ferry would drop anchor off Scarinish, and people and cargo would be transferred to a rowing boat for Scarinish Harbour.
