Letter from the Duke of Argyll to Les Crawte, Milton, 1998
Photocopy of a framed, typed letter from the Duke of Argyll to Mr Les Crawte, Milton, congratulating him on his `stunning achievement` (production of a booklet of the Roll of Honour for WWII), dated 10th March 1998. The framed letter was found in his house in Milton when it was being cleared out by the new owners in 2011.

Archive film from the 1980s about `Two Men of Tiree`
DVD film from the Scottish Screen Archive about `Two Men of Tiree`. Filmed in the 1980s, colour, sound. The two men are Gavin Carter, who opened a bakery on the island, and Hector MacPhail, lobster fisherman. Both businesses were given start-up funding from the Highlands and Islands Development Board. Also featured in the film: Nester Carter (Gavin`s wife) and their four children, Donald John Kennedy (crewing for Hector), school children on the school bus and in the classroom, Milton Harbour, and “Harbour Maid” (Hector MacPhail`s fishing boat).
Cine-film footage of the Muir family holiday on Tiree in the 1960s, transferred to DVD. Mrs Christian Muir (the lady with the dog, who gets a kiss from her husband) and their kids Iain, David and Kenneth, came to Tiree on a family holiday in 196?. The donor, Alex Newbery, found the film in Mrs Muir`s attic while clearing it out. She`s sure that they stayed at Salum or Ruaig.
