Order of service for the funeral of Rev Bob Higham (1937-2020), and a letter to John Holliday, Balephuil, from Bob’s wife, Di Higham, dated 9/03/2020. Rev Higham was the Church of Scotland minister of the Parish of Tiree during 1995-2002. He published a book about life as a minister on a Hebridean island, was a driving force behind the Tiree Heritage Society, and is buried at Polwarth in the Scottish Borders.

Handwritten copy of the official ‘Notification of Death’ for Charles McLean (1917-1941), son of Donald Archibald McLean, Kenovay, dated at the Air Ministry 17 September 1942, 10 months after Charles went missing in action over the English Channel, while serving as a Pilot Officer with the RAF during WWII. His body was never recovered. The note states  “Original to Alister 24/9/68”, Alister being Donald Archibald McLean’s brother. Black & white photograph of Alexina Mary McLean (1926-1929), daughter of Donald Archibald McLean, Kenovay, in around 1929, and the family gundog, Flossie. Alexina was named after her Uncle and Aunt, Alexander Walker and Mary McLean (sister of Donald Archibald), who gave Alexina a present of a doll, which was kept long after her death at the age of three.
