Clockwise from top left: brothers Lachlan and Donald Mclean of Tobermory, who both lost their lives while serving in the Merchant Navy; Lachlan in 1917; Lachlan in 1930; Donald and his bride Maggie MacArthur. Donald was lost overboard in 1926, while Lachlan disappeared from ‘MV Awahou’ off the coast of Australia in 1951 (see Magistrates Inquiry). Part of a large collection of items belonging to and about Donald Archibald McLean, Kenovay (1890-1981), and his family.
